LIE and BIGLIE

Programs to find Lie symmetries of differential equations

These stand-alone programs run on any PC (and on other computers that have a PC emulator such as VirtualPC for Macs) and do not require a separate computer algebra system.  LIE is the standard program and can find traditional point symmetries and also contact, Lie-Backlund, generalised and approximate symmetries.   BIGLIE is for equations that are too big for LIE, but is slower and with more restricted facilities.  Each zip file (which can be downloaded below) contains the current version of the operating program, instruction and explanation files, examples of input data files and the MuMath source code.
